There are so many good lessons we can learn through cooking. A simple example, to cook a good meal, you need to spend so much time to prepare ingredients in advance. This is one of the challenging task to test your patience. Imagine, to finish eating the food, perhaps just half an hour, however the preparation work might take much longer than that. You must have passion and love in cooking, if not you are going to give up soon.
It’s the same as spiritual practice, we need to walk the path in our daily life and not during the time we are spending in monastery. Whatever we do, our mind must be in peace and not running like wild monkey. Step by step and we can arrive to our destiny soon in whatever we are doing.
Another lesson, if we don’t get prepare the ingredients in order, we are going to run like mad in kitchen and stress up! Once you are stress, you are unable to cook with love as you lost your mindfulness. You might also express your anger to the food and your family members.
Today, I cooked Organic Vegan Kerabu Mee Siam (Healthy Brown rice vermicelli salad) for breakfast. It took quite a long time for preparation.
Happy weekend! Happy cooking! Smile always!
