Recently, I spend a lot of times to learn mum’s recipes. It’s really to learn the traditional way of cooking by using a few ingredients and cook awesome food. According to my mum, my grandma taught her to use simple ingredients and cooked for whole family. They were poor and lack of food resources.
Simple is the best.
I changed ingredients to organic and no refined sugar in cooking.
This weekend, I learned Steamed tapioca dessert (Kuih Ubi Kayu) with only 5 ingredients:
Organic Unbleached lain flour
Gula Melaka (Coconut nectar/palm sugar)
Pandan leaves juice
Steamed about 50 minutes.
We enjoyed super nice dessert (Full of aroma) and taste great!!!
Remember to learn from your parent or grand parent.
You can always change to vegan cooking style.
Let’s continue our traditional cooking, our culture food even we are adopting Vegan diet.
